A Shaker Card

Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone had a great beginning to a new week.  I did not have as much time to play as I had hoped.  I spent the day working on one of my tutorials for the upcoming Sending Kisses.  I did get a chance to use one of my coloring pages I created for the coloring challenge.  I used it in the card for today.

Today is day 28 of the Coloring Challenge.

Today I decided to use an idea from my Perfect Pearls online class.  In the class we used glitter gel and added perfect pearls to it.  I pulled out a stencil and I added some gold perfect pearls to it.  I spread it on my paper and then removed my stencil.  I did not like the look so I decided to add some perfect pearls on top.  I sprinkled it on and then used a brush to smoosh it in.  I am not happy with the way it turned out.  I think it should have been a lighter color perfect pearls.  Oh well that is what this challenge is all about – coloring with different tools and playing.  Here is today’s coloring.

Ok, now for today’s card.  I saw a great card on Kristina Werner’s blog.  I decided to use the Corner Garden stamp set to create my version of her card.  I colored it on a previous day so today I went back to it and sponged in some color on the background.  In retrospect I think it would have looked better if I had used a light blue but that is okay as this is a learning curve.  I then just had to put my card together as a shaker card.  Here is my finished card.

Now I have to ask for some advice.  I love making shaker cards.  My problem is the static I get on my window sheets that causes my pieces to stick to it.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I would love to make shaker cards where my pieces do not stick!

Thanks for visiting me today.  Today I am going to check out a site for a Creative Escape.  I am hoping we get some good news about it.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Robbie
