Animal Outing Birthday

Hello Everyone ~ I have an adorable kid’s birthday card today that used some new designer series paper to create the Animal Outing Birthday idea.

I worked on one of the projects I brought with me yesterday.  I got 2/3 of it finished.  I ran out of post-it notes so I had to get some more last night when I went to the store.  My plan is to finish it today and then work on another project I brought with me.  I am hoping to get the other project well on it’s way by the time I have to go pick up the girls.  Jess has a Christmas work party so I will be fixing them dinner and ready for bed so I won’t have time in the evening.

As part of my preorder I could order the mini paper cutter that is available to people who sign up to be demonstrators during Sale-a-bration.  With the mini cutter you also got a sampler of 6 x 6 designer series paper.  I got paper that I would not have ordered so it was a good way to check out the paper.  I decided to use the Birthday Bonanza designer series paper for my card today.  I paired it with the Animal Outing to create a cute kid’s birthday card.  I began by cutting a strip of each of the patterns that was 3/4″ x 5 1/2″.  I cut a piece of 1 7/8″ x 5 1/2″ of Bermuda Bay card stock and attached it to the lower portion of the Daffodil Delight card front.  I then added the strips of designer series paper on top leaving a space between the two pieces and making sure there was a space on the top.  I needed a sentiment so I found the perfect one in the Perennial Birthday stamp set.  I stamped it on the left hand side of the card front using Bermuda Bay ink.  The branch from Animal Outing was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White card stock.  To color it in I used the Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green, and Old Olive markers.  The 1 3/4″ circle punch was used to punch out the image.  For the backing I used the Starburst punch and Bermuda Bay card stock to punch out the starburst.  I added the 2 circles and then attached the element on the right hand side of the card base using dimensionals.  Here is my completed Animal Outing Birthday creation.

Here is a great idea for a kid's birthday card. This Animal Outing Birthday card uses some of the new Birthday Bonanza dsp.
