Animal Outing Wild About You

Hello Everyone ~ I have a fun fold Animal Outing Wild About You creation for you today.

Well I came back to New Bern on Sunday.  I had electricity but no internet.  Yesterday it was up and down all day.  I am hoping I can get this written and scheduled before it goes down again.  The devastation here is unbelievable.  So much flooding which has caused the roads to collapse.  And the flooding is not over.  The rivers are supposed to crest later this week.  The governor is extended the mandatory evacuation until Friday.  He has said if you are not here to stay away.  My apartment is fine.  We have trees down in the complex but they did not fall on any of the buildings.  There was minimal water damage and that was only in one garage buildings.  All in all I think we were one of the lucky ones.  There are still so many people without electricity and lots of companies have sent crews down to help out.  It is going to be a long road to get back on our feet down here.

I saw a fancy fold card online a while ago.  I wanted an A2 size card so I had to modify the original design.  I liked the idea but I wanted to see if I could make the fold using 8 1/2″ x 11″ card stock.  I began by creating a top fold card using a piece of 4 1/4″ x 11″ out of Lemon Lime Twist.  The original card had a flap on the front that allowed you to fold it out.  To make my flap I used a piece of Lemon Lime Twist card stock that was 4 1/4″ x 7 “.  I scored this piece at 1/2″ from one of the 4 1/4″ edges and then again at 3 1/2”.  I added glue to the 1/2″ section and attached it to the bottom of the card base.  I folded the card stock down away from the card base to form the fold that would be used to help it stand up ~ give it a slight fold as it does not have to be crisp.  Then fold the same card stock piece again on the 3 1/2″ scored line so the bottoms of both the piece and the card base line up.  This forms am “M” from the side with one of the tops being shorter than the other ~ See the second photo below.  You are now ready to add your designer series paper.  For the top of the card I used a 2 1/2″ x 4″ piece Attach this so the bottom is below the fold of the other piece.  Cut another pattern for the bottom at 3 1/4″ x 4″ and attach to the front flap.  Stamp your images and color them.  I used alcohol markers and regular markers.  Attach to your card base using dimensionals.  For my sentiment, I stamped it on a piece of Whisper White card stock and used the Everyday Label punch to punch it out.  It was too wide so I cut it down to get a different shape.  Here is my completed Animal Outing Wild About You creation.

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you.  I am planning on going down to my storage units today to see if they have any damage or not.  I am crossing my fingers on that.  I may drive by the property to see the trees that fell down.  I will also be working on some birthday cards and thank you cards today.  I am way behind in those.  Have a Terrific Tuesday and I hope you enjoyed the Animal Outing Wild About Your fancy fold creation.
