Happy Monday Everyone ~ I played with the most recent PP and created this August Paper Pumpkin – Happy Birthday.
Well today is my youngest daughter’s birthday. Michaela is 30 today. I sent her a card since I am not able to be there. I will also call her and sing to her. I am not sure what her plans for her birthday are. Next week is Jess’. I have to get her card made this week but won’t be a problem since I know what I am doing as well as she is gone all day now so it will be easy to get done.
I took my August Paper Pumpkin with me to North Carolina. We had quite a bit of crafting time this visit and I pulled this kit out one day and worked on it. I had a request for some feminine birthday cards they could purchase. I decided to play with this set and see what I could come up with. I began by stamping the half scallops together to create a flower. This was fussy cut and then mounted onto a Peekaboo Peach scallop circle. The same half scallop stamp was stamped with Garden Green and cut into individual petals to form the leaves of the flower. A 1/2″ circle punch was used to punch out a piece of gold glimmer paper. This formed the center of the flower and was added using a glue dot. To finish off the flower a large pearl was added to the center. Using a piece of Whisper White card stock that was my card front layer, I stamped the half scallop stamp along the bottom of the layer. A piece of retired gold washi tape was added just above the stamped images. A ribbon and bow was added using some retired Peekaboo Peach ruched ribbon. This layer was added to a Peekaboo Peach card base. I attached the flower to the card front using dimensionals. I wanted a more feminine Happy Birthday sentiment so I used the one from the Sale-a-bration Sky is the Limit set. It was stamped with Peekaboo Peach and punched with a retired large oval punch. A scallop oval was punched using the retired scallop oval punch and added behind the sentiment. The sentiment was added to the card front using dimensionals. Here is my August Paper Pumpkin – Happy Birthday creation.
