Black & White with a pop of color

Black & White with a pop of color

Hello Everyone – I love using Black & White with a pop of color for my cards when I am stumped as to what to do.

Well I have had Remi 2 days and I am exhausted. She got up early on Saturday and then we were on the go all day long ending the day with 1 1/2 hours in the pool. I may sleep for a week when she leaves. One of the activities was paint your own pottery. She had a great time making her tea light jar.

If you missed my You Tube Live last week you missed seeing a unique card. I was inspired by a British crafter and had to make my version of her card. Hers was 6″ x 6″ but I modified it – which was interesting in itself – to be 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. I enjoyed making this card and she has another one I am going to give a try. Love the graphic feel of this card for a change of pace!

A little different idea with this one. Lots of fun to use a modern feel to the layout. Check out the details for the Black & white with a pop of color creation.

I chose to use the Cheerful Daisy as my image as I love the bold outline of the stamp. It was perfect of heat embossing. If you like bold and simple stamping, then the solid images are perfect for quick stamping in one color. If you want to add detailed color the use the open line-art images, perfect for watercoloring. To finish your card choose one of the sentiments for cards for many occasions. Check out this great set!

Look at how that outline image embosses so well on the Black card stock. Great image to use for this technique don’t you think?

I chose to use yellow as my pop of color. The center of a daisy is yellow and I thought it would be a great way to tie it all together.

The outline of the daisy is a great image to heat emboss. You can also color the center using your colored pencils to tie the colors together for this Black & White with a pop of color.

Have stamped the small daisy on this card and love how it also uses the outline stamp. Not to overlook the coordinating dies, but check out this beautiful layered daisy card.

I hope you enjoyed my Black & White with a pop of color card idea and it has inspired you to try your card with your own pop of color.

Thanks for visiting me today and have a Marvelous Monday!
