Blended Bloom watercolor style

Hello Stampers!

Well I started walking again yesterday.  I have not walked since my sciatica acted up over a year ago.  I have to start slow but at least it is a start.  I did not go far.  I work my way up to walking 3 miles a day.  I won’t get that far for about 3 – 4 weeks as it take it very slow.

My card today began with the color challenge at The Paper Players.  I really liked these colors when I saw them.

I went looking for a sketch as I was working under a time crunch – Zoie was out with Mom and Dad so I needed to get as much done as I could.  I found a fun one at CAS – Colours & Sketches.

When I saw this I thought it would be fun to play with the new single stamp Blended Bloom.  I wanted to try doing some blending of colors on the edges.  I did a watercolor wash with So Saffron on the watercolor paper stamped image.  I then used my marker to trace around the petals then I used my aqua painter to paint over it again to blend the colors.  You have to work in small sections so that the marker does not dry too much.  After I had the flower completed and cut out, I did a watercolor wash on the watercolor paper and used the Secret Garden framelits to cut them out.  When it was all finished I spritzed it with my shimmer spray.  Here is what my final creation looked like.

This is a great stamp and there are so many things you can do with it besides using the Blendabilities – which I have not tried yet!

Thanks for visiting me today!  I have 2 ladies coming to make up a workshop and I hope to cut my grass today.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

I really wanted to do a floral with these colors, as well, and yours is just gorgeous! Thanks so much for sharing your creation with us at The Paper Players!

  4. The big, bold blossom is terrific, and I like how you've used the leaves for the squiggly part of the sketch. Thanks for sharing your card with us at CC&S, and take care of yourself. đŸ™‚
