Blended Bloom watercolor style

Hello Stampers!

Well I started walking again yesterday.  I have not walked since my sciatica acted up over a year ago.  I have to start slow but at least it is a start.  I did not go far.  I work my way up to walking 3 miles a day.  I won’t get that far for about 3 – 4 weeks as it take it very slow.

My card today began with the color challenge at The Paper Players.  I really liked these colors when I saw them.

I went looking for a sketch as I was working under a time crunch – Zoie was out with Mom and Dad so I needed to get as much done as I could.  I found a fun one at CAS – Colours & Sketches.

When I saw this I thought it would be fun to play with the new single stamp Blended Bloom.  I wanted to try doing some blending of colors on the edges.  I did a watercolor wash with So Saffron on the watercolor paper stamped image.  I then used my marker to trace around the petals then I used my aqua painter to paint over it again to blend the colors.  You have to work in small sections so that the marker does not dry too much.  After I had the flower completed and cut out, I did a watercolor wash on the watercolor paper and used the Secret Garden framelits to cut them out.  When it was all finished I spritzed it with my shimmer spray.  Here is what my final creation looked like.

This is a great stamp and there are so many things you can do with it besides using the Blendabilities – which I have not tried yet!

Thanks for visiting me today!  I have 2 ladies coming to make up a workshop and I hope to cut my grass today.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

  1. Oh my gosh Robbie, so sorry to hear about your health issues, but what a huge achievement walking today must have been for you! I love your card, too. I really wanted to do a floral with these colors, as well, and yours is just gorgeous! Thanks so much for sharing your creation with us at The Paper Players!

  2. Fabulous – was sure you used the new Blendabilities – they are very fun and yes, I need more practice! 3-4 miles in just 3-4 weeks…amazing but happy you are able to walk again.

  4. The big, bold blossom is terrific, and I like how you've used the leaves for the squiggly part of the sketch. Thanks for sharing your card with us at CC&S, and take care of yourself. 🙂
