Butterfly Basics by Stampin’ Up

Happy Monday Ladies ~ today I have a Butterfly Basics by Stampin’ Up creation.

We had a great day yesterday.  Jess fixed a delicious meal and we had a great time visiting.  It is always so nice to spend time with the girls and get lots of hugs.  I hope you had a great day yesterday and the weather was nice for you.

I hope you got my color combination I sent out in my newsletter on Saturday.  If you did not get it make sure you use the form on the right to sign up.  You don’t want to miss out on the information I send to my subscribers.

I played with the Butterfly Basics stamp set for my card today.  I have not used the flower image from the set very often so I decided to play with it for my card today.  I began by using a Wisteria Wonder marker to color the flowers on the image.  A Wild Wasabi marker was used to color the leaves.  It was then stamped in the lower left hand corner of the card panel.  I stamped another image onto a post it note and cut it out so I had a mask.  I masked the image on the panel and used the fern image to add some behind the flower.  Next I used the largest thinlit from the Eastern Medallions thinlits and cut the shape out of the upper right hand corner of the panel.  A sentiment was added to the center of the medallion.  This panel was added to my Wisteria Wonder card base.  I wanted a skinny ribbon to go with my card so I took a piece of the Whisper White 1/8″ sheer ribbon and using the Wisteria Wonder pad and a sponge dauber I dyed the ribbon.  Set this aside to dry ~ this will take a while but the ribbon must be fully dry or it will not stick.  Once it is dry, tie a triple loop bow and attach it to the bottom of the cut out using glue dots.  To finish off the card, I added some pearls.  Here is my Butterfly Basics by Stampin’ Up creation.

I am going to miss this set! Very pretty card.

    • Thanks Betty Ann! I used the fern a lot so I will miss it. Struggled with the flower image so did not use it very often.
