Christmas Cookie challenge

Good Morning Stampers!

Well today is the day!  Jess and family are bringing their things down today.  They will stay tonight but then go back on Monday as the moving company will be at their place on Tuesday.  I have both rooms to the point that they can get their stuff moved in and we can finish up once they get here permanently.  I still need to get the alcove straight as that is where Jess will put her cats.

Okay, on to my card.  Over at Sudsol I am hosting a chat and challenge today.  When you host a challenge you have to come up with the guidelines.  I tried and tried to think of something and I did not want to do a sketch.  As I was thinking about Christmas I thought about Christmas cookies.  From there everything fell into place.  I thought it would be fun to make a card using the colors of your favorite Christmas cookie.

My favorite cookie for this time of year is a Hungarian cookie knows as Keifli – I am sure the cookie is called something else in other languages.  I have seen them at Food Lion with a fruit filling and called by another name.  This cookie consists of a dough that is filled with a paste made with walnuts and flavored with almond extract.  After you cook them you shake them in a bag with powdered sugar.  The colors of this cookie are basically tans and browns.  So with that I chose to use Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, and Very Vanilla.  I embossed the ornaments with Whisper White and then sponged on Crumb Cake to make them pop.  Here is what my final card looked like.

This was a fun challenge.  How about you, what is your favorite Christmas cookie?  I would love to see you create a card using those colors and share it with me.

Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

Robbie
