Christmas Gift Box

Hello Everyone ~ Would you like an idea for a Christmas Gift Box?

Wow yesterday I got a lot done!  I managed to do a make up workshop, make several birthday cards, finish adding the cards to my October collage class sample, edited and uploaded my 2 videos and wrote the tutorials for them, made my project for today’s post, and took photos of all my projects for my upcoming classes.  It is amazing what you can get done when it is just you at the house.  Last week threw me for a loop as far as my plans go with my having Remi since she was sick.  I will be playing catch up this week but I think I am of to a good start!  Hopefully I can keep this momentum going!

I needed a project to post today so I opted to play along with the CASEing the Catty challenge.  This week we were to C.A.S.E. something from the Christmas Around the World section on pages 28 – 35.  When I looked through the section I was not inspired by anything saw.  On the last page my eye caught this box.

I thought about it for a moment and decided to C.A.S.E. this and put my own spin on it.  The first change I made was to use Real Red for my box rather than the Soft Sky.  I felt it would look more festive.  I used the stamp from Snowflake Sentiments and masked the “from our home to yours” as I only wanted the Merry Christmas.  This was stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with clear embossing powder on Watercolor Paper.  I then did a watercolor wash on the background using Real Red.  When it was dry  I took some of the 1/8″ Real Red ribbon and added a bow.  The matching framelits were used with Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper to cut out the swirl and the snowflake.  I added dots of glue to the back and then attached them to the watercolor paper.  I took some liberty and changed the placement as I wanted the snowflake to be the “star” of the box!  To make my box I used some Real Red card stock.  The front and back panel is 3 3/4″ wide and 4 3/4″ tall.  The sides and bottom are 1″ wide.  Once my box was made I attached the watercolor panel using tear & tape.  I used a piece of tissue paper and my marker to stamp the Merry Christmas all over and then added it to my box.  Here is my completed creation.

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you.  Would you like to see some more projects that could be used for Christmas?  I am thinking of doing a similar box with some modifications for one of my classes.   Have a Terrific Tuesday and let me know if you want more projects like the Christmas Gift Box.
