Happy New Year Everyone ~ I used a Christmas set to create my All Occasion Christmas Pines ~ Simple Joys card.

Today I am taking the girls to meet Jess.  They have school tomorrow so they need to get back home.  My sister is still in the hospital and we are not certain when she will be coming home.  A lot will depend on how well she is doing.  She said she can get someone to take her home as Jess has to work.  Hopefully she can find a friend to help her out.  I will keep checking to see and make sure everything works out.

Today I used a Christmas set to create an All Occasion card.  I love taking my stamp sets and finding ways to use them all year long.  The Christmas Pines set has some great images and the coordinating thinlits are perfect for cutting sprigs.  I began by taking a piece of Early Espresso card stock and embossing it with the Woodland embossing folder.  Using Tear & Tape I added the embossed panel to a Very Vanilla card base.  Then using a Very Vanilla panel that is smaller than the embossed panel I stamped the pine needles across the top.  The Pretty Pine thinlits has a couple of great sprig images so I used them along with Mango Medley and Melon Mambo card stock to cut our some sprigs.  I added those at the bottom left hand corner of the panel.  I used part of one of the sentiments from the set and the Melon Mambo marker to ink up the sentiment and stamped it above the sprigs.  This panel was then added to the embossed panel using Tear & Tape.  To finish it off I added some sequins from my stash.  Here is the completed  Christmas Pines ~ Simple Joys creation.

Stampin’ Up supplies used for my creation

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you.  The temperature is supposed to be really nice the next few days.  I am not used to being in the 60’s and 70’s in January.  It will be interesting to see how cold it gets later in the month.  Have a Terrific Tuesday and I hope you liked my idea to use a Christmas stamp set to create my Christmas Pines ~ Simple Joys creation.
