Hello Stampers ~ ready for another Color Theory Watercolored Flowers from Stampin’ Up idea?
We had a great time at Zoie’s party last night. She was so excited! She chose the place to have dinner ~ the girl definitely likes her food and knows which restaurants she wants to eat at. Afterwards we went back to the townhouse and had cake and presents. One of the presents she asked her mom for was to get her ears pierced. Jess did some researching and found a place that does children. Here are some photos from the evening. As you can see she is a real goof ball!
I still have some watercolor paper from my play with reinkers and acryllic blocks. I thought I would use some of it to create some small die cut flowers. Once I had the flowers cut out I needed an idea of how to use them. I played with an idea of using a tag and creating a swag across the bottom of the tag. I pulled out my scallop tag topper punch and punched the top of a piece of Whisper White card stock. I wanted to get an idea of what it would look like before I glued things down so I decided to put the card together. I began with a card base of Crushed Curry. Using a layer of Whisper White I added a strip of the Color Theory dsp down the left hand side. This panel was then attached to the card front. Next I placed the tag onto the card front and I laid the flowers along the bottom in an arc. I did not like this as the tag was lost on the card. I did not want to use Crushed Curry card stock so I opted to sponge the Whisper White tag. I used Crushed Curry ink and added it to the tag. After checking to make sure I had enough ink, I then used Cherry Cobbler to sponge the edges of the tag. I knew this would work so I added the tag to the card front using dimensionals. The flowers were arranged to highlight the colors that came from the technique. They were attached to the tag using glue dots. Before adding the 2 flowers on each end, leaves were cut out of the same paper and added to the flower. I loved the swag and the look of the tag but it was missing bling. A small rhinestone was added to each flower. To finish off my card, I tied a multiloop bow and added it using a glue dot. Here is my Color Theory Watercolored Flowers from Stampin’ Up card.
