Coloring Down the Lines – Elegant Eggplant

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Today we have our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week our colors are much easier than last week – we all commented it was a difficult set of colors.  Our choices this week were

Elegant Eggplant, Island Indigo, Basic Gray

                              OR

Elegant Eggplant, Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand

I decided to go with the second set of colors as the first set of colors were all dark.  I wasn’t sure what I was going to do.  I knew I wanted a Sahara Sand base card and I wanted to use the Six Sided Sampler.  After that I just started playing.  Here is what I created using my set of colors.

inside of card and envelope

It is hard to see but the inside of the card has the swirl and the hexagon dotted shape.  I wanted a subtle look and I think it was too subtle to photograph.  I also used some alcohol ink dye to color my ribbon.  I think I need to add more re-inker though as it is not dark enough.  It was dark when it was wet but it dried lighter.  I will play with it until I get the nice dark color I want.

So are you ready to see what the other ladies created with these colors?  Head on over to Amanda’s blog – Our Crafty Playdate to see which colors she chose and what she created using them.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

  1. Very nice, Robbie. I like the placement of your hexagons. I never know quite where to place them. And the color combination is great. Hugs.
