Hello Everyone!
Well I made a few cards yesterday. I needed to make my card for today so I decided to make a few more. I am trying to stay ahead of the game as things can be hectic at times. It is less stressful for me that way.
Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop. This week we are again using some Spring colors.
Stampin’ Up color matches
I decided to see about using a sketch for my card. I checked out several challenge blogs and found one I wanted to use at TGIF Challenges.
When I saw this sketch there was something that just spoke to me and I knew I had to use it. I think it was the circle with the flowers. I went looking through my stamps and decided to use Wild About Flowers.
So I started out thinking I was going to use Rose Red but when I began to create the pieces my focus changed. I looked at both Pear Pizzazz and Mint Macaron and knew that I would be happier with Mint Macaron. This then threw my second choice to Blushing Bride. Years ago we had a Sage Shadow and a soft pink (can’t remember the name) and I loved the color combination. These 2 colors remind me of those colors and so I decided to use those colors.
I stamped my flowers and then punched it out using a circle punch. I struggled with a color to mount it on and then decided on the black. It just made the whole image pop. I needed to make my horizontal piece so I pulled out the only paper I have that matches Mint Macaron – the envelope paper. I punched the edge with a retired edge punch. I was ready for my card base. I tried the Mint and the Blushing Bride and I loved the Mint. When I laid the pieces on the card base it was missing something. I thought I could emboss the card front but was not thrilled with that idea. Then I remembered the Botanical Garden vellum and knew it would be perfect. Here is my final creation.

very sweet. I love the way you used the colors in this card – such clean lines combined with soft flowers! Great job!
Very nice use of the vellum. I also love the scallops behind the stripe piece. Lots of interest on this card, yet it is clean. Great job.
Very pretty – I love how subtle it is!
