Hello Stampers ~ I am continuing with my coloring techniques and sharing my Coloring with Masks and Embossing Paste creation.
I did not know where my time went yesterday. I did spend some time trying to find a vinyl pocket for an upcoming class. Then I had to take the samples to the library so they could display them. I also did some grocery shopping and then came home. I have wanted some peanut butter cookies so I mixed up the batter and cooked them after I finished my dinner. Today I will be working on cards for next week, my cards for my class, cards for my Christmas Club stamp-a-stack, reading my book for the book club, and working on Michaela’s blankets. Looks like I will be very busy!
I have another coloring technique for you today. It is actually 2 different techniques as you will see from the explanation. I pulled out a background I had created a couple of months ago. To create the background I used my gel plate and inked it up using Granny Apple Green and Gorgeous Grape ink. Then I took my stamp from Beautiful Friendship and stamped on the gel plate to remove some of the ink. A panel of Whisper White was laid on top of the gel plate and covered with a scrap paper then I gently pushed down on the scrap paper to transfer the ink. You can see the subtle image on the right hand side of the top panel. After this paper was dry, I took some clear embossing paste (my white was dry and I am adding water to revive it) and to a small amount I added some Granny Apple Green reinker and mixed it up. I then did the same with another small amount of embossing paste using Gorgeous Grape reinker. I taped down my panel with painter’s tape and then taped the mask in place also with painter’s tape. You want to make sure your panel nor mask moves or it will ruin your image. I used some of the Gorgeous Grape paste and spread it through the mask. The knife was cleaned and I did the same with the Granny Apple Green paste overlapping the 2 colors slightly. If you overlap them too much the 2 colors will mix and become muddy. This was set aside to dry. Once it was dry I added my ribbon and mounted the panel onto a Gorgeous Grape card base. The sentiment was created by taking 2 different sentiments from Daisy Lane and putting them on the same block. It was stamped using Gorgeous Grape ink. After cutting the sentiment down, it was mounted onto a piece of Granny Apple Green then attached to the card base using dimensionals. The bow was tied and then added using glue dots next to the sentiment layer. Here is the Coloring with Masks and Embossing Paste creation.
