Emboss die cuts for a card element

Emboss die cuts for a card element

Happy Friday stampers – today I will show you how to Emboss die cuts for a card element.

Another idea for heat embossing is to use die cuts and emboss them to make embellishments for your cards. Today’s card uses the spiky branch from Cheerful Daisy dies and the leaf die from Unbounded Love dies. I applied Versamark to the dies and then gold embossing powder. It was heat embossed and then repeated several times to make the die cut thick. Once I had them thick, I added them to my card front in a cluster. To finish of the cluster I made a multiloop bow to add to it.

I did discover my gold embossing powder had gone bad. Instead of a nice shiny gold, I got a dull metallic. I will be dumping that embossing powder and getting some new so I can get shiny gold.  I have had it a while so I think it is time to pitch it.  Keep this in mind if your gold embossing does not look shiny like you would like.  Here is the card I made.

About my card

White – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
              scraps for die cutting
Cherry Cobbler – 2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″
Splendid Autumn dsp – 2 1/4″ x 5″

I have made several cards using heat embossing. This one uses an open line image to make an image for the card front. This idea uses Versamark and an ink pad to emboss an image.

To make this idea you will need these supplies.
