Embossing Folder Technique

Good Morning and Happy 4th of July ~ ready for an Embossing Folder Technique today?

I had a relaxing day yesterday.  We did our water aerobics and then spent time floating around in the pool again.  I had lunch when I got home and then went to Lowe’s.  I needed to get some more firring strips to reinforce the bottom of my drawers.  I then rearranged my bins in my attic storage since it was cool.  I put my bins with my baskets in there also.  I have some baskets I need to put in bins and then put them in the storage also.  Then I played!  Today I am planning on getting my strips cut so I can reinforce a few of my drawers and then I will play!  I am going to Barb’s for a cook out but that will still give me lots of time to play.  I have a lot to get done over the next week.

I saw a new to me technique on Facebook that I wanted to try.  This technique used supplies from other companies so I went looking at our supplies to see if I could recreate it.  I began with a panel of Pretty Peacock card stock that I embossed using the Country Floral embossing folder.  Using the Encore Gold ink pad I swiped it across the embossed panel adding ink to the raised portion.  The heat gun needs to be used on this to dry the ink before the next step.  Once the ink was dried, I then used the Versamark pad and pushed it onto half of the panel to cover it with the sticky ink.  Iridescent Ice embossing powder was added to the half of the card with the sticky ink.  This was then heat set.  I repeated the procedure with the other half of the card to make it sparkly also.  A bow was added using the retired Tea Room ribbon combo and Tear & Tape.  This panel was then added to a Very Vanilla card base.  The sentiment was cut from Gold Foil and then attached to card front using Multipurpose Liquid glue.  This card is really sparkly but you can’t tell from the photo.  After this was finished I wonder if it would have been better if I had used a lighter color card stock and maybe mix the Iridescent Ice with some clean embossing powder.  Sounds like another play session for me!  🙂  Here is the completed Embossing Folder Technique creation.

A sparkly Embossing Folder Technique was used for the card today. Very sparkly which you can't see so click the photo to get the details.
