Fancy Fold Christmas Card

Hello Everyone ~ I have a Fancy Fold Christmas Card for you today.

Yesterday was another busy day.  I had a workshop in the morning then worked on cutting for the mini album kit I needed.  I had to go to the dentist ~ yay!!!!!!!!! no cavities ~ and when I got back I vacuumed and then started cutting for 2 more kits I needed.  I also had my first mini album class last night.  Needless to say I was pretty tired.  Today I have an energy audit being conducted and then I am headed to the yarn shop.  I will also have to finish kitting the last 2 kits for tomorrow morning.  I have nothing this weekend so I will be able to relax and play with some ideas I have been wanting to try.

My card today started with an idea I saw on a You Tube video on a mini album.  I saw the idea and thought that it would be a good idea for a card so I decided to give it a try.  Make sure you let me know what you think of my card.  I began with some designer series paper that would not be used for Christmas.  My card base is a single layer of Garden Green.  I cut a piece of Painted Autumn dsp that was 4′ x 5 1/4″ but did not attach it.  I cut a piece of Very Vanilla that was 4″ x4 1/2″.  It was scored at 1/2″ on the 4 1/2″ side.  Using Tear & Tape I attached the 1/2″ piece to the back of my dsp centering it top to bottom.  Then I added the dsp and flap to the card base.  The corners of the flap were rounded and a piece of the Delightful Daisy dsp was added on top that had the corners rounded also.  For the inside, I cut a piece of Very Vanilla that measured 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″ and round all the corners.  The sentiment is from Labels to Love and I stamped it using Cherry Cobbler ink.  I mounted this piece onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler that measured 3″ x 3″  that the corners were rounded.  This piece was attached to the card base underneath the flap.  Now you just have to decorate the flap front.  I used the Leaf framelit form Seasonal Layers and a video by Valita to create poinsettia.  I used the same framelit for the leaves.  Once I had my poinsettia  created I attached it to the flap using glue dots.  The center was created with a 1/2″ circle punch of Silver foil and a clear Faceted gem.  Here is my completed Fancy Fold Christmas Card.

  1. Like the card! I had to read and look at it a couple times before the brain figured out – how do you open it? duh. Really cute. Will have to try that one.
