Last week I tried to do the faux plaid technique with Paisley Prints and could not get it to work. Those of you who know me that when something work like I think it should work, I will continue to work at it until I can get it. I was also the one growing up when told I couldn’t do something would work at it to prove them wrong. Well that was the case with this technique.
I saw this great color challenge at Picture Perfect Creations. I knew this would be a challenge for me so I decided to try the faux plaid technique with the Paisley Prints set again.
I had to play with it the colors quite a bit but I think I got it worked out. I combined it with the sketch challenge at The Paper Players.
For some reason when I saw this sketch and thought of the Paisley Prints leaf I wondered what it would look like cut into 3 sections. So I set about to see what I could do. Here is what I came up with.
I liked this so I decided to try it with the leaf as a complete image. I am considering using it as one of my Regional swaps. Which one do you like the best – the one with the image split in the above photo or the one with the image whole in the photo below.
Let me know your preference so I can get going on them.
I have the first phase of my Christmas Stamp-a-stack tomorrow and Sunday so I will not post either day. I also will be working on my swaps since I need them for next weekend. Hope you have a great weekend and I will be back on Monday with a new creation for you.

They're both great, but I would choose the second one. i think the leaf looks better intact rather than spread apart.
Love how you used the plaid technique with the paisley leaf! Thanks for joining The Paper Players this week!
Robbie, my vote is the first one! I think it actually looks really interesting as a triptych. Very creative use of the challenge and I love that you tried the faux plaid technique.
Thank you for joining the Paper Players this week. Look forward to you joining us again.

Just gorgeous! Both cards look great! Thanks for joining us at PPC this week!
Well girl you rocked the color challenge. What a fabby card. I like both cards, but I am leaning towards card #1 because of the uniqueness. You rocked the sketch too! Thanks for sharing your inspiration with us at PPC.
