Hello Everyone ~ Are you ready to see what my Favorite Bundle is?
Well the retiring list came out late Monday. I have a lot of sets that are retiring that I will miss. I need to see in the new catalog if there are some that can take their place. I am hoping there is a similar set and framelits to Botanical Blooms and the matching framelits. I used that one a lot. I guess we will find out when the new catalog comes in.
Our challenge this week for Coloring Down the Lines was all about bundles.
There are lots of bundles in the catalogs. Some were stamp sets with punches and some were stamp sets with framelits. I have lots of favorite bundles but my current favorite one is the Dragonfly Dreams bundle. I have used the large dragonfly framelit a lot. I wanted to challenge myself to use the dragonfly grouping for my card today. I took a piece of watercolor paper and taped it down to a board – I do this to help keep the paper flat. I had my teflon mat that I used during this process. I added a few drops of reinker to my mat. Then I spritzed my watercolor paper with water. Using a small paintbrush I picked up some of the Mint Macaron ink and added it to my watercolor paper. I then repeated the process with the Wisteria Wonder ink. I continued adding color until I was happy. I then sat it aside to dry – you can dry it with your heat tool but it moves the ink around and I did not want my ink to mix. After my paper was dry, I used the framelit to cut it. I tried several colors to mount my dragonflies on and settled for black at they popped. Before I glued down my dragonflies, I used my Wink of Stella to add some sparkle to them. Small dots of Tombow multipurpose glue were added to back of the dragonflies and set aside to dry. Using the dot stamp in the set, I stamped them around the edge of my Whisper White card base using Mint Macaron. The dragonflies were attached to my black card stock and then it was layered onto Mint Macaron and then Wisteria Wonder. This multi-layered panel was added to my card base with dimensionals. Using one of the sentiments from the stamp set I masked of all the sentiment but the word “Thanks”. This was inked up with Wisteria Wonder and stamped on a scrap of Whisper White and using the retired Word Window punch it was punched out. I then used the same punch and some Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper to punch the shape out. Glue dots were used to add the sentiment to the glimmer paper. The completed sentiment layer was added to the lower right hand corner of the image panel using dimensionals. Here is my completed creation.
