Well the craft show is over and I have to say it was not as good as last year. I’m not sure if the economy has affected people’s spending or if the fear of swine flu kept people away. I am thinking of listing my items in my Etsy shop to see if I can sell them.
I have my monthly workshop this week so I needed to make the cards for it. I decided to take care of 2 issues at the same time. I used color and sketch challenges to make my cards for my workshop. This way I am doing double duty. I hope you like them as I know the ladies will enjoy making them. If you want to join us let me know and I will be glad to give you directions.
Today’s card uses the sketch from Gretchen’s blog Inspiration in Action. It was great sketch and one that is perfect for a workshop card. I combined it with the color challenge at Cards & Things. I wanted to do a snowman card so I chose to use the image from The More The Merrier set. When I looked at the color challenge and saw you had to use Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, and Sage Shadow I wasn’t sure how they would work for a winter card. I think once you see my card you will agree it makes a very pretty winter card.
I used glitter and microflake pens to give it lots of sparkle. I also spritzed it inside and out with Glimmer Mist that I had to add even more shimmer. I stamped the Simple Snowflake inside but I used third generation stamping so the colors would be faint. Here is the sketch and my creation which the ladies will make at my workshop this week.

So isn’t this just a cute winter card. Why don’t you try these colors for one of your creations? Hope you enjoyed my creation. Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!
