Happy Monday Everyone ~ Today I have a Flamingo Friend card to you today.
Well yesterday was a relaxing day. I played with a stamp set I had borrowed and made several cards I will share with you over the next few weeks. I also watched the Ravens Football game and the Nascar Race. In the evening I watched some more Football games. It was nice not to have a deadline I had to meet. Today I will be making my One Color Wonder video for Wednesday as well as I have a workshop this afternoon. Not a hectic day for a change.
It is time for a new Make My Monday challenge. This time we were to create a card using the following theme
Animal Antics
Any form of animal/birds etc.
I don’t have many animal stamps so I had to check out my stamp library one set at a time. I finally found a stamp set that had an animal ~ Pop of Paradise. I just love that little flamingo!
I decided to see if I could play along with a sketch challenge so after checking out my challenge blogs I found a fun sketch at Match the Sketch
Now that I had my stamp set and sketch I was ready to begin. I used the Flirty Flamingo ink pad and inked up the stamp. Then using my Basic Black marker I colored the legs in. After I stamped him on Whisper White he was cut out. I decided to use the large leaf for the element at the top so I stamped it with Emerald Envy and cut it out. The Pick a Pattern dsp had 2 fun papers I could use the the other shapes. The Emerald Envy was mounted onto a piece of matching card stock and added to the Flirty Flamingo card base. The black piece was then added vertically. My flamingo was attached using dimensionals so it would pop off the background. Using a piece of Whisper White I stamped the sentiment using Memento Tuxedo black ink. The end was flagged and the sentiment strip was added using dimensionals. To finish off the card, the leaf was added with dimensionals. Here is my completed creation.
