Flower Punches for Card Making
Hello Stampers – I used my flower punches for card making along with some Christmas pattern paper for this adorable card!
I worked really hard yesterday with a lot of paperwork for classes and my newsletter. I had hoped to work on putting together some card kits but that did not happen. That will be on my agenda for today. I also have 2 cards I need to make as I owe the ideas to the people in my class. Hopefully today will be better and I can get more completed.
I just have to say I love, love, love today’s card. It is so bright and cheery but really easy to do. The Sale-a-bration focus this week is the Peaceful Prints pattern paper.
This beautiful pattern paper coordinates with the Peaceful Deer bundle in the July – December catalog. This is a great bundle as it is a punch – we all love punches for ease in our card making – and not an expensive bundle to purchase.
I love getting free paper but I also don’t have a need for a ton of Christmas paper. I decided to put my thinking cap on and see what I could come up with using the paper for non Christmas cards. One of the patterns is a plaid that I am not fond of as it seems so busy to me. Well I decided to use that paper.
One of the strategies I use when I have paper I don’t particularly care for is to use the paper in a smaller amount. Today’s card uses a smaller panel so it is not so overpowering. I love to use use plaid and dots together so I went to my other Sale-a-bration free paper – Beautifully Penned – to use with it. I just love how the dot paper takes over and the eye is drawn to it rather than the plaid.
A decorative strip hides where the 2 papers meet. Since my goal was to create a non Christmas card I could not use the deer with this card. I pulled out my drawer of punches and spotted the daisy punches. I knew I was set. I punched several daisies from White and layered them for a full daisy. Kept my sentiment general and added some gems. Check out how I used my flower punches for card making on this card!
I love using my daisy punch. Here is a clean and simple idea that is gorgeous! This card uses the same dotted paper with the Flowers of Friendship bundle for a black and white with a pop of color idea.
