Hand Stamped Sentiments – Back to School

Blogger did not post my scheduled entry.  Sorry this is late!

Good Morning Stampers!

Can you believe it is almost that time of year?  In just a few short weeks school will be starting again.  The summer really flew by!

Our challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments is to create a card with a Back to School theme.  I do not have any current back to school sets so I had to some thinking.  When I think of Back to School I think of the colors Black and Red and I think of apples for the teacher.  That is what I went with.

I used my large circle punch and punched a red and green apple.  I then cut the top and bottom to look like an apple.  I cut a stem and for the leaves I used the 5 petal flower punch.  I wanted to add some shading on the card so I used my pencils.  Need to work on that as I am not happy how it turned out.  Added lots of layers and some double ribbons.  For the inside of the card I used a retired set to add the crayons in the primary colors.  Here is what I created.

Hope you have some time today planned to do some stamping.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

  1. Adorable!!! I have been trying to figure out for days now how to create an apple with my punches, you are such a help!!! I loved the crayons inside the card too- I think I had a set like that once and miss it… ADORABLE CARD!!! You should be VERY happy with it girl!

  2. I love how you made the apples. Great idea! Is the background crimped? It adds so much texture and interest and it looks like a chalk board. Thanks for all the ideas!

  3. Love your card! Great color combination! The apples turned out really nice!

  4. Great innovation with the apples, and they turned out so cute! Love the inside, too.
