Happy Friday Everyone ~ I played with thinlits for my Hometown Greetings Snow Card today.
I spent some time at the yarn store yesterday morning. I am working on trying to finish up my shawl so I can work on something else. The one I am working on has beads on it so it is taking me a while. Hopefully I am on the down side of it. When I got home I put the insulting caps on my outside faucets. With the low temps being expected over the next several days I thought I might need the extra precaution. I then worked on my card for today as well as the videos for my January Creations of the Month.
Speaking of my January Creations of the Month, I will be using the Petal Passion Designer Series paper. This paper is very versatile. Since it is black and white it can go with any color. The patterns range from flowers and leaves to a dots and geometric design. It so much fun to work with. Look for my latest tutorial on January 1st.
My card today was the result of a project I had worked on before Christmas that did not turn out. I was going to add the Hometown Greetings thinlits to a jar and add a tea light inside. Well it did not turn out so I took the strip off the jar and set it aside. I decided to use it on my card today. I began by embossing a piece of Night of Navy card stock using the Softly Falling embossing folder. Then using the Whisper White craft pad I touched the tops of the embossed dots with it to add the ink. This made it look like snow was falling. I took the strip of Hometown Greetings thinlits I had cut and colored and added it to the lower edge of the Night of Navy panel. A piece of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper was cut and added under the houses to represent the snow. To finish off my card I stamped part of the sentiment from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set and embossed it using Silver embossing powder. I used the Everyday Label punch and double punched the sentiment before adding it using dimensionals. Here is my completed Hometown Greetings Snow Card.
