This card was so easy but so cute! Look at how the cute flowers add just the right touch to the black and white pattern paper. I love combining patterns and this pattern paper makes it easy. Check out how quick this card comes together.

So you can see the papers I used on my card, here is a close up with some other details included.

Those cute little flowers were perfect for decorating the inside of the card and envelope.

Black and white is a great way to make a card when you are in a creative slump. This card uses some black and white pattern paper along with Highland Heather. This card uses the same flower in a different color for another great black and white idea.


Measurements for how to use black & white paper and a color for a quick card

Card Base:   Tahitian Tide 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ 
Basic Black:  4″ x 5 1/4″
Tahitian Tide:   scrap for stamping and punching
Perfectly Penciled pattern paper:  striped pattern 7/8″ x 5 1/4″ and small flower pattern 7/8″ x
5 1/4″

Let’s make it!

  • affix all stamps to blocks
  • fold and burnish the card base
  • glue the small flower pattern paper to the bottom of the black panel leaving about 1/8″ from the bottom
  • add the striped pattern paper above the small flower pattern leaving about 1/8″ between them
  • attach a strip of the Tahitian Tide metallic ribbon to the top of the black panel about 1/2″ from the top and securing the ribbon using Tear & Tape
  • add the black panel to the card base
  • stamp the small flower from Flowers of Friendship onto Tahitian Tide using Memento Tuxedo Black 3 times
  • use the coordinating punch to punch them out
  • add the flowers to the left hand side of the card base using glue dots and dimensionals – see photo above for placement
  • use a small rhinestone for the center of each flower
  • tie a bow with the Tahitian Tide ribbon and adhere it to the ribbon strip at the top on the right hand side with a glue dot
