Hello Everyone ~ check out my cute children’s Jar of Love Fishes creation below!
Today we are going to visit the vendors at the Convention Center. I am anxious to see what new “toys” they have on the market. I love checking out all the new techniques that are out there and seeing how I can do the same thing using Stampin’ Up supplies. I would love to see the newest ink brushes and try them out. They are expensive so I want to see if they are really worth it. Then I will see if I can find something similar at a much cheaper price. I would also like to check out some of the hybrid ink. Then I will see what other “new” items I can find! Hopefully it will be a successful day! I will let you know on Monday.
The next stamp set on my second round of my Catalog Journey is the Jar of Love. There are some great images in this set that can be used for feminine, masculine, or even children’s cards. I decided to use the fish and create a fun children’s card that I can use to send to the girls. I began by stamping a tone on tone background using Mango Medley on the card front. This was done randomly. Next I stamped the middle sized jar using Basic Gray. The water was added using the stamp and Pool Party ink. To finish off the jar I stamped the string bows using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. On a piece of scrap Whisper White I stamped the fish using Mango Medley. The coordinating die was used to cut them out. I added these to the stamped jar using glue dots. I took the jar panel and mounted it onto a piece of Pool Party card stock and then that panel was added to a Whisper White panel. The completed panel was added to the lower part of the card base. The sentiment came from the Eastern Beauty set. I masked off all the words but the “smile” and inked it up with Pool Party. I then removed the masks and stamped it onto a scrap of Whisper White. The 1 1/8″ scallop circle punch was used to punch it out. I used the 1 3/8″ scallop circle punch to punch a Pool Party circle and mounted the 2. The sentiment was then added to the card base using dimensionals. Here is the completed cute Jar of Love Fishes creation.
