One Layer Stamping Beautiful Friendship

Hello Everyone ~ Something different for me today with my One Layer Stamping Beautiful Friendship creation.

We had a great time yesterday.  We had lunch at Red Robin and had a good visit with our friend.  After lunch we did some shopping.  Then we went to Costco and came home.  It was an all day event and Bijou was glad when I got home.  Today I do not have anything scheduled so I will be working on my videos and some cards for the rest of the week.

We have a new challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  This time we have a color challenge.

These colors were a real challenge for me.  I think the one I struggled with the most was the Terracotta Tile.  This is not a color I would use so I had to think about what I was going to do.  I started by looking at my stamp sets and found the Beautiful Friendship set that had images that I could use with at least 3 of the colors.  That left me with just the Terracotta Tile color to do something with.  I thought it would be good to use the color with the Buffalo Check background stamp.  Since we do not have dies for the Beautiful Friendship set I decided to do a one layer stamping idea.  I began by stamping the flowers and leaves on the lower part of the Whisper White 3 3/4″ x 5″ panel.  The large flower was stamped with the Grapefruit Grove ink.  I added the flowers using the Mint Macaron ink.  To finish off the flower image I added the berry spray using Pretty Peacock.  Now that I had my image stamped, I created masks using post-it notes for all of the images.  Now that I have all the images masked I inked up the Buffalo Check background using the Terracotta Tile ink and set it down onto my stamping pad with the image face up.  I stamped it onto a scrap piece of paper as the color is pretty intense.  The Whisper White masked panel was added on top of the Buffalo Check background stamp and a scrap piece of paper was placed on top.  Holding the white panel in place I rubbed my hand all over the stamp to ensure the image of the Buffalo Check transferred well.  Once I felt the stamping was transferred I removed the scrap paper and lifted the Whisper White panel off the Buffalo Check.  The masks were removed and my panel was stamped.  I added this panel to a Pretty Peacock panel.  The linen thread was wrapped around the top of the panels three times.  This panel was then added to a Whisper White card base.  The multi-loop bow was created using the linen thread and added with a glue dot.  Here is my completed One Layer Stamping Beautiful Friendship creation.

I tried some one layer stamping as this set does not have dies. Get the directions for this One Layer Stamping Beautiful Friendship creations.

  1. Robbie, what a great card. So creative of you to do this card as one layer and use the masking technique. So pretty and you always finish the inside of your cards so beautifully. Thank for sharing your creativity with Hand Stamped Sentiments.
