Anni-Verve-sary Take 2

Today’s sketch was a lot of fun. I have been wanting to do something to highlight a saying and Verve has a great one. I just love this saying and the card came together quickly. Love the look. I also combined it with Splitcoast Color Challenge #178 -Farewell to In Colors. I was to use a neutral and any In Colors I wanted but no other colors. I cheated a little and used some Barely Banana and Lovely Lilac ink. This is also a square card. I made it 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 to fit in an A2 envelope.
Stamps: Asian Flair (Verve) Paper: Barely Banana, Groovy Guava, Kraft, Wild Wasabi
Ink: Barely Banana, Groovy Guava, Lovely Lilac, Wild Wasabi Accessories: ribbon (Michael’s), horizontal slot punch, buttons, dimensionals, sticky tape
I am using a new photo shop program. I haven’t had time to play with it yet to learn how to edit my colors. Sorry the picture is washed out but it really isn’t. Thanks for looking and have a great evening!

Anni-Verve-sary Sketch Challenges

Verve is having their release party on their forum in Splitcoast.  Each day they post a new sketch for you to try.  They are also randomly choosing one submitted card to win a free stamp set.  I love their stamps.  They are quality photopolymer stamps that are easy to use.  I have several of their sets and find it very easy to mix and match to create my cards.

The party began on August 1 and runs until August 12.  Visit their forum and check out the sketches and all the beautiful cards being created.

Here is the sketch from August 1 and my card.  I’m a little behind but yesterday I was a stamping maniac.  I created 6 cards for the Verve sketches and 4 cards for my workshop.  Wow it felt good to stamp!
Stamps: Floral Whimsy (Verve) Paper: Brocade Blue, Elegant Eggplant, Sahara Sand, white Ink: Ballet Blue, Elegant Eggplant, Green Galore Accessories: Flower punch (Martha Stewart), Sahara Sand marker (to dye ribbon), white ribbon (Michaels’ – dyed with marker to match), dimensionals
So this was quite a bit different from what I usually do.  What do you think?  Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Masculine Card

I have missed making my cards. Life has been so crazy here. I do have my cards made for my Catalog Dinner and just need to make the cards for my workshop. I decided to work today on a bunch of cards to post the rest of this week and next week while I am on vacation.
Today I wanted to use the sketch from Mothersanddaughters. I also wanted to use some cute Penny Black stamps I recently ordered. Here is the sketch and my card.

Stamps: Missed You (Penny Black), So Many Sayings (retired) Paper: Gable Green, Green Galore, white, DCWV Spring and Summer Stack (last year) Ink: Green Galore, Staz-on Black
Accessories: Blush Blossom-Pretty in Pink-Gable Green-Going Gray-Green Galore- Pumpkin Pie-Summer Sun markers, Silver Gray marker (Marvy), large and small oval punch, silver mini brads, dimensionals

Don’t you just love this guy! He is too cute. Stop in tomorrow and I will have another card for you. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Stampin’ Up! announced at the 2008 Convention that they have partnered with Sizzix. Starting in early September customers will be able to order the Big Shot for Stampin’ Up! and accessories! They will also offer 7 exclusive dies, that will coordinate with Stampin’ Up! stamps sets, along with other dies. Stay tuned for more info!

It’s important to note that there are different types of dies.

  • Originals, Bigz, and Bigz XL dies. These steel ruled dies cut through virtually any material and multiple sheets of card stock and Designer Series paper.
  • Sizzlets dies. These dies are small and detailed, often creating scored or perforated details. These dies cut through thin materials, and multiple sheets are not recommended.
