Simple Saturday – Bees

Happy Weekend Everyone!

What are your plans for the weekend?  Mine will be low key.  I don’t have plans to go anywhere or do anything.  Now there is a possibility that could change but you never know.  I will work on planning my swaps as well as the projects for our display and make-n-take for My Creative Escape next weekend.  I am getting so excited about it.  A day to myself to do what I want.  Candice and I are planning on working on an upcoming class.  It will be fun to design it and get it ready to go.

Simple Saturday is one of my favorite days to post.  I love doing simple cards for the fun of it and see if I can pull it off.  Today is one of those days that I am not sure I achieved it.  I have to admit the stepped up version is better to me.

I began with the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches

I thought this would be a simple one to play with.  I was going about my daily chores and thinking about what I could do with it.  (Do any of you do that?  I sometimes think about a sketch and what I can do for a few hours while I do my chores.)  I also did not want to use a butterfly or flower so I was not sure what I was going to do.  I thought it would be fun to use a piece of vellum and emboss it.  My initial thought was to emboss with the Wildflower Meadow folder but when I looked at it, it was not going to work for what I had in mind.  While looking through my embossing folders I ran across the hexagon folder and it hit me to emboss using that folder and create a bee.
I set about finding a punch art bee as we don’t have a bee stamp – we had one but it retired.  I found a cute one on Pinterest so I created it.  When I laid it on the card, it was too small so I made a second one.  I added the embossed vellum using dimensionals.  You could see the dimensionals so I had to make a second bee to cover the dimensionals.  When I had all the elements added it was missing something.  I decided to stamp and cut out a flower.  Here is my interpretation of the sketch.

So what do you think of my card today?  To me it seems to be missing something.  What do you think?
Thanks for visiting me today.  I am hoping to have a relaxing weekend for a change.  Have a Super
Saturday!
