Simple Saturday – Fresh Flowers

Hello Everyone!

Well it still looks like a Winter Wonderland outside.  It was very cold yesterday so no much melted.  Today is supposed to be about 40 degrees and tomorrow in the 50’s.  It will then be in the 50’s for the rest of the week.  We will have a lot of melting and very soggy ground this week.  I am hoping to get outside later in the week and start cutting my grasses and bushes back before they start sprouting.

Before I share my card, I want to share my coloring for today.  I am doing The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge.

For today’s share I decided to do some watercoloring backgrounds.  I have taken tips from several videos I have watched to come up with the way I do this.  I used 2 color combinations.  The first one used Marina Mist, Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz, and Wild Wasabi in this order from left to right.  The second one used the colors Blushing Bride, Hello Honey, and Calypso Coral.  I had a plan for this one so that is why I used these colors.  Here are the 2 backgrounds I created.

My Simple Saturday card today was fun to do.  It may look like it is not simple but it really is.

I began with the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

I combined it with the color challenge at Fab Friday

I did not want to make a long card like the sketch so I used the same idea but make an A-2 size card.  I used some of the Subtles Collection paper stack.  I punched a bunch of flowers from the 3 colors.  Here is my Simple version of the 2 challenges.

I hope you enjoyed my card and coloring today.  Make sure you come back tomorrow to see my stepped up version.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I will be doing some more coloring today to share with you tomorrow.  Have a Super Saturday!

  1. This is so pretty! I love the colorful cluster of flowers. Thanks for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches!

  2. Your card is very pretty and sweet! Am interested to see what you end up using the water-coloring card for. A year or so I found something similar and is friend and I took time to play with but we used the shiny c/s and after it was dry, we stamped on top of it. Ours was much like ocean was perfect for me to use out fish set. My SIL loved it! Hope you will share your project! Sorry for the fast melting…try to enjoy your weekend!
