Simple Saturday – Penguin

Hello Everyone!

Yesterday Zoie and I spent some time working on a cute little gift for the workers at her preschool.  It is simple and is basically a holder for a few pieces of chocolate.  Not much but it is the thought that counts.  We spent at least 3 hours working on it with all that had to be done.  It is not finished but we have some time as she does not go back until Tuesday.  We will also make a holder for the antibacterial soap I bought as well as a cute purse for the gift card Jess got for her teachers.

Saturday is the day I create a simple card that I use for the beginning of the stepped up version for Sunday.  This week I began with the sketch challenge at I Love Card Sketches

My sister suggested I could do some penguins also for Winter cards.  I decided to use the penguin for the center rectangle element.  I found a great tutorial for a punch art penguin at Alex’s Creative Corner.   Here is my interpretation of the sketch.

If you look at my card carefully you will see my diagonal cut is opposite the one in the sketch.  I had to laugh when I had it cut and was putting it together when I checked the sketch to be sure I had all the pieces.  I guess I did not pay close attention to the direction of the cut.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I will be working with Zoie some more today as well as organizing my room more.  I did get my work area cleaned up and organized more.  I have in my mind what I want to do just need to see if it will work.  Have a Super Saturday!

Robbie
