Spotlighted Stampin’ Up! Cottage Rose
Happy Friday Stampers – wait until you see a fun technique and easy way to color a large image with the Spotlighted Stampin’ Up! Cottage Rose creation!
I don’t know about you but I am always looking for ways to color large images without using blends and markers. One way that I had not played with recently is coloring with glycerin. I knew it would be perfect for the large flower in the flower cluster and then I could spotlight just the flower.
I love the open rose in this bundle. It does not look like a rose but reminds me of knock-off roses. The simplicity of the flower makes it easy to color and the other images are perfect for adding interest to your card.
So you can see how to do the spotlight technique as well as glycerin coloring I made this video for the Spotlighted Stampin’ Up! Cottage Rose card.
I used coloring with glycerin to color the rose. If you have the blends you can use those or you can use your watercolor pencils also. I love the mottled look of the colored flower. Looks so realistic.
That large image is the perfect for stamping in a single color. I used it for the inside of the card and the envelope.
I thought I had done other cards with the spotlight technique but I could not find any. Guess I will be playing with it more often now. I did find some for glycerin coloring. Check out these beautiful blue flowers that were colored the same way as today’s flower. Look at how gorgeous this dragonfly is with his glycerin colored wings!
