Stampin’ Up Flowing Flowers meets Hand Penned
Hello Everyone – make sure you check out my bow treatment on the Stampin’ Up Flowing Flowers meets Hand Penned card!
The Flowing Flowers set in the upcoming Occasions mini catalog has some great sentiments. I used one of those on my monochromatic card today.
I paired the sentiment with the Hand Penned Petals stamp set.
My inspiration for today’s card came from the sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps. I loved the simplicity of this sketch and decided to use it.
I have been playing with cutting my ribbon apart and using it in different ways. From Stampin’ Up’s OnStage Online I received the White Frayed 3/4″ ribbon. This ribbon is wider than I like to use so I decided to see if I could deconstruct it and use it. I ended up pulling the thread to have it fray out and then I used the thread I pulled out in the ribbon on my card.
Are you ready to see how I made this card? Here are the details.
Measurements
Card Base: Gorgeous Grape 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
White layer: 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″
Highland Heather image layer: 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″
Side Panel Layer: Gorgeous Grape 1 3/8″ x 4 1/4″
Flowering Fields pattern paper layer: 1 1/4″ x 4 1/8″
Sentiment: scrap for stamping and punching
Here are the step-by-step directions for today’s Stampin’ Up Flowing Flowers meets Hand Penned card.
- fold and burnish the card base
- add the white panel to the center front
- stamp the flower cluster from Hand Penned Petals in the center to the left side with Gorgeous Grape ink on the Highland Heather panel
- glue the Highland Heather panel to the white panel on the card front
- attach the Flowering Fields pattern paper to the Gorgeous Grape strip
- take the White Frayed ribbon and pull the thread at the bottom so the end frays out
- use the thread you pulled out and the White crinkled seam binding to tie a bow around the pattern paper strip
- adhere the pattern paper panel to the right hand side of the image panel on the card front using equal spacing on the top bottom and right hand side
- stamp your sentiment onto the scrap of White using Gorgeous Grape
- punch the sentiment using the Label Me Lovely punch keeping the top of the sentiment close to the top of the straight edge – see photo above
- reinsert the sentiment into the punch placing the bottom of the sentiment close to the bottom of the straight edge and punch – see photo above – this makes a smaller version of the punch
- add the sentiment to the card front near the top using Stampin’ dimensionals
- sprinkle on some Brushed Metallic Butterflies
Note – the 3/4″ White frayed ribbon and the Brushed Metallic butterflies are not available until January 4th.
I used the flower cluster stamp from the Hand Penned Petals stamp set to decorate the inside of the card and the envelope. I did use a second generation stamping for the inside of the card so it could be written over if your message is long.
The Hand Penned Petals stamp set has some gorgeous images in it. Here is an idea for a quick way to color the image. This card uses the stamps in the set to color the image.
