Hello Everyone – I played with coloring my image using the blender pen for the Stampin’ Up Happiness Abounds Bundle creation today.

I did not start out to make a card with Christmas colors but it turned out that way. I had to choose colors for my images and had not played with Poppy Parade so opted to use that for the flower. Then I had to have a green for the leaves and it just turned out to be Christmas colors.

I wasn’t certain what I was going to do so I went looking at my challenge blogs. The CAS Colors and Sketches had an interesting sketch that I knew I could use for the layout on today’s cards. I love using sketch challenges for the layouts on my cards. Do you use them?

I thought it would be fun to use my blender pen to color my images. I love the way the ink is lighter when you do that. If you use the blender pen as soon as you stamp it will bleed the color out. Great way to color an image quick. Here is a close up so you can see how it will bleed out. I did use ink on a block for the images that would not bleed.

I have not used the large rose image much in this set. My favorite is the small image with the stem. I used the same images for the inside of the card and envelope. I did not color these so you can see what it looks like without the color.

Would you like some other ideas using this bundle? Check out this idea that uses the large diamond shaped cut out. This idea uses my favorite image from the set along with some of the pattern paper for a beautiful card.

It was so fun to play with the coloring technique on today’s card. I call it color bleeding as I don’t know what it is called. I have done some other cards using this technique. If you use the search bar on the right and enter color bleeding it will show you some other ideas.
