Still working on my last workshop card

Good Morning! It is the beginning of the holiday weekend. I bet things will be crazy on the roads.

I noticed the other day that I have hit 20,000 visitors. I need to do some blog candy. I will look around and see what I can come up with. I will post it in a few days.

My card today is not a card for my workshop. I have hit some technical difficulties so I am still working on it. I hope to have it later today.

This card began with the Technique Challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments. You were to make a card with a fancy fold.

I combined it with the color challenge at Picture Perfect Combos.

I went looking through one of my card books and found a Diamond Fold Envelope. The directions used a 3 1/2″ square and it makes a really small envelope. I decided to modify it and make a large envelope with a panel inside. I used a 7 1/2″ square. You basically fold the square in half to form a triangle. You then take the 2 points on the long side and fold in and secure with sticky tape. I measured the bottom to make each side fold in so the finished size is 4 1/4″. This makes the finished size almost a little smaller than and invitation size (A-2). I then cut my panel and used the scallop trim corner punch to add some detail to the top corners. Here is what my final project looks like.

Stampin’ Up Supplies
Stamps: Messages for Mom, Watercolor Trio Paper: Daffodil Delight, Riding Hood Red, Soft Suede, white Ink: Riding Hood Red Accessories: Daffodil Delight – Riding Hood Red – Soft Suede markers, scallop trim border punch, sticky tape

Wasn’t this a cute idea! It would also look good done with designer series paper. I hope to get my final workshop card finished so I can post it. Check back later today or tomorrow to check it out. Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

  1. I liked your folding idea. It made for a nice inususal card to open with an envelop within an envelope. I like how you use card stock and make designer out of it. And I liked the stamping and corners. It added a finished zing to the card. Once again I am not sure of the color combo. It doesn't strike me, but it will strike your other followers, I'm sure.
