SU Falling Flowers Swirl Idea

Hello Everyone ~ I used the Falling Flowers stamp set for my SU Falling Flowers Swirl Idea.

I was able to swiffer my floors and changed my bedding yesterday.  I then went up into my studio and worked on some cards.  I had hoped to make some videos but I could not get my phone stand together.  I have to have Doug see if he can get pole out so I can reattach the the base.  I did not have the strength to pull the pole out so I hope he can get it out.  If he can I will be making videos tomorrow.  I did cut all the paper and pull all the supplies so it is ready to go.  That should only take me about an hour to make the videos.  Cross your fingers that he can pull it out.

I used another set that is retiring in June.  I love swirls on cards as there is so much you can do with them.  I decided to use the swirl from Falling Flowers and do different card front.  I stamped the swirl in Gorgeous Grape on a 3 1/8″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Whisper White.  I then cut the piece apart on the 4 1/4″ side into 4 pieces that are 1 1/8″ x 3 1/8″.  I mounted each of these pieces onto a piece of Gorgeous Grape that measured 1 1/8″ x 3 1/4″.  Now to make the card base that the pieces will be added to.  I took a piece of Whisper White and embossed with the Polka Dot Basics embossing folder.  I piece of the Gorgeous Grape Sale-a-bration ribbon was added to the top.  This piece was then added to a Gorgeous Grape card base.  To add the pieces, this is very similar to the Triple Layer technique.  I added the piece on the left about a 1/2″ from the edge and centered between the ribbon at the top and the edge of the Whisper White panel.  To add the second piece, I added dimensionals down the center of the panel and then matching up the stamped image as close as possible I attached ti to the card base.  The third piece was then added by sliding the piece under the raised piece matching up the stamping again.  The last piece was then added using dimensionals like the second piece was added.  This is easier than you think as the length of the pieces are the same size so all you are basically lining up is the stamping.  Here is the completed SU Falling Flowers Swirl Idea creation.

I love using swirls on my cards. For my SU Falling Flowers Swirl Idea I combined it with a twist on the Triple Layer technique. Check it out.

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you.  I am headed to the knitting group today.  I have not been in a while as I had things going on and they did not have it a few times also.  It will be good to do something different for a change.  Have a Marvelous Monday and what did you think of my SU Falling Flowers Swirl Idea?
