Hello Everyone ~ Can you believe that Summer is almost over? Do you have a case of the summer blues like I have?
Well the temperature is going up again. I hope this is the last heat wave we have this year. I love sweater weather and I am hoping this is the last blast of heat we have to deal with. I am ready to wear some sweaters and my shawls!
Our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop is today. In honor of the end of summer we have an End of Summer Blues challenge.
I had an idea for a card but needed a sketch to help me get there. I found a great sketch at Try Stampin’ – or Not – On Tuesday.
I loved this sketch and knew it would work for my design. I began by embossing the lower portion of the Vanilla using the Seaside embossing Folder. I then cut a swirl from the Swirly Scribbles thinlits and added it on top of the embossing. I cut a strip of the wavy By the Shore dsp and attached it on top of the waves. I then stamped my sailboat and sentiment on a piece of vanilla and mounted it on Night of Navy. I added it to my card using dimensionals. Here is my interpretation of the sketch.

Are you ready to see how the other ladies are handling the Summer Blues? Hop on over to Helen’s blog – Blue Dahlia Designs to see what she did with this challenge. Make sure you leave her some love!
Thanks for visiting me today. I will be working on some other creations today. I hope you take some time to be creative. Have a Wonderful Wednesday and show me how you would tackle the Summer Blues!

Love that little boat. Very nice card. Ahhh, summer went way too fast!
Robbie, this is an excellent take on our sketch this week! Those waves are fabulous! Great job. Thanks for joining us at Try Stampin' on Tuesday this week again! Crystal
Clever way to use the SU Swirly Bird and Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, Robbie! The way you incorporated them into the Try Stampin on Tuesday sketch is clean and bold. Great job!
