The Paper Plunge – ribbon

Happy Friday Everyone!

I spent yesterday at the yarn store with my friend.  I am trying to get some of my UFO’s (UnFinished Objects) completed.  I have many projects I have started and have not finished so I set a goal after Christmas that I would not start another project until I had some of my unfinished ones completed and off needles.  I am working on a shawl and cowl right now.  I have to have 2 as I sometimes need a break from one.

Today is The Paper Plunge challenge.  This week our challenge is about ribbon.  We are to show unique ways we use ribbon.

Since I have a ton of ribbon – yes I have a ribbon fetish – I went looking at what I had.  I have done flowers by gathering ribbon and decided to do it again.  I was going to use some of my seam binding but did not like the colors I had so I went looking at some of the other ribbon I have.  I ran across the retired stretch trim and pulled it out to use.

I got a needle and thread and did a running stitch along the bottom of the ribbon.  I then pulled the threads tight to gather the ribbon in a circle.  I tied the ribbon in a knot to keep it gathered.  I made 2 different sizes and layered them using the Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  To finish off the flower I added a large pearl in the center.  Here is my finished card with the ribbon flowers.

Make sure you head on over to The Paper Plunge blog to see how the other ladies used ribbon.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you are staying warm and getting a chance to play and be creative.  Have a Fabulous Friday!
