Hello Stampers ~ I have the cutest Thoughtful Banners from Stampin’ Up creation for you today.
Well I got the home inspection report back. I will be talking to my agent this morning. There are a lot of small jobs that need to be done as well as a few big things that need to be addressed. I was upset last night but talked to a good friend and my financial advisor and they don’t seem to think it is a big deal. I am hoping my agent says the same thing and that it will not cost too much to get things fixed. The bad part is some of these things should have been done when I built the house or I just had done. I will be calling the companies that just did the repairs and they will be coming back to address the issues. I sometimes wish there was a “Hire-a-Husband” service for single women that they could use to help them with walk thrus or to check after services to see if it was done correctly. I have definitely learned a lot with the sale of this house and will be making sure I check everything on my new home!
There are some stamp sets that have presented a challenge in my Catalog Journey. Today’s stamp set is one of those. The next set I have in the catalog is the Thoughtful Banners. This stamp set has a ton of words and some outline banner shapes. Not a whole lot to work with. I opted to create my own sentiment for my card today. I chose to make an interactive card. I thought a flap card would be a good one to use. The flap would be a good way to hide the sentiment behind. Here is what I came up with. I took the hexagon embossing folder and embossed a front panel. I added it to my card base. The next step involved making the flap. I used a piece of card stock that was 1 1/4″ x 3″ and scored on one end at 1/2″. Glue was applied to the 1/2″ piece and then attached to the card base inside. When the piece was folded on the score line and the card was closed, the flap overlapped on the front of the card. To hide the inside flap attachment, a panel was added to the inside. Now to decorate the flap! I used the flower from Oh So Eclectic and stamped the solid piece as well as the outline piece using Pool Party. The framelit was used to cut it out and then I attached it to the end of the flap on the front of the card. To add some interest, I took the bee from the Detailed Dragonfly thinlits and cut it out of Basic Black. I mounted it to a piece of Crushed Curry and cut it out. I added some Fine Tip Glue to the wing openings and let it dry. I attached the bee to the flap with a dimensional to make it look like it was sitting on the flower. I stamped my sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White and used the 1 3/8″ scallop circle punch to punch it out. I wanted to glue it to the front of the card base behind the flower. I added my glue then holding it behind the flower on the flap and making sure none of it showed, I slowly closed the flap and putting the sentiment onto the card base. My card was complete! Here is my finished Thoughtful Banners from Stampin’ Up creation.
