Hello Ladies ~ here is one of my play ideas for a Watercolor Background Idea Using Birthday Blooms.
I had a great day yesterday. I ran some errands and then I spent some time in my craft room. I played with 3 different ideas as well as did my video for tomorrow. I was pleased to get some cards made. Today I have to clean my bathrooms and prepare for my workshop this evening. If I have time I will be working on some cards for my blog. I also need to finish my cute little treat holders for the ladies who are coming to my workshop. It is so adorable!
My card today was inspired by a video I watched. I wanted to give the technique a try. I began with a piece of watercolor paper. On the paper I embossed the flower cluster from Birthday Blooms using clear embossing powder. After I had it embossed I took my Rose Red pad and smooshed it onto a craft mat. It was spritzed with water until it was pretty wet (it really needs to be pretty wet in order for the ink to flow. Using the embossed panel I placed it into the ink. I did it several times until I was happy with the look. I set this aside to dry. While it was drying, I took the flower and the leaves from the stamp set and embossed them using copper embossing powder. The flower was punched out using the Pansy punch. The leaves were fussy cut. I went back to my totally dry colored panel. I wanted to add some depth so I took the dry panel and dipped parts of it back into the ink. In order to get the depth, you have to let the original inking completely dry. After I had the depth I wanted, I set it aside to dry. Once the panel was dry, I added Tear & Tape to the back of the panel and attached it to a piece of Very Vanilla card stock that was a little larger than the colored panel. This layered panel was added to a Very Vanilla card base using dimensionals. The leaves were added to the back of the copper flower with glue dots. The image was then added to the upper right hand corner of my colored panel using glue dots. Here is the completed Watercolor Background Idea Using Birthday Blooms.
