Whitewash Technique Rose

Hello Everyone ~ I played with the whitewash technique again and created this Whitewash Technique Rose card today.

Well yesterday we went to the pool in the morning.  It was cloudy but not raining so that was good.  A friend of mine had her grand daughters visiting and Zoie made a new friend.  They had a good time playing in the pool.  After lunch we went to the Mall and did some shopping.  We came home and rested a bit and then Zoie went over to my friend’s house for dinner and to do some crafting with supplies we bought.  I am sure it will be a fun evening for her.  Today we are headed to Ikea.  I am hoping to pick up 2 of their bar stools for my counter.  I also need to find a shelf to put my DVD player on up in my craft room.  I love walking through there as you never know what you will find!

I had another image I had embossed and painted with white craft ink to do the whitewash technique and decided to use it for today’s card.  I had embossed the rose from the Beautiful Day stamp set on Merry Merlot card stock.  Since I had already added the white craft ink it was just waiting to be colored.  I pulled out a Crushed Curry alcohol marker for the flower and a Garden Green one for the leaf.  When you color inside the lines you need to be careful not to touch the embossed lines as it does not come off.  I did not try the color lifter and that may work.  I will have to try and see if it does.  I did buff the embossed lines but it did not seem to affect the marker.  I added a Silver metallic bow at the top and then attached the image layer to a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of Whisper White.  These panels were then added to a Daffodil Delight card base.  Here is the completed Whitewash Technique Rose creation.
