I was looking for a quick and simple card and on the Clean and Simple Stamping Blog Natasha posted a great sketch. This was my starting point. I ran across a new blog (just started Friday) where 6 very talented ladies have pooled their efforts and post a weekly challenge. Stampin’ B’s Design Team posted a challenge to use a bee on your card. When I read this I immediately thought of a pattered paper I had that had bees all over it that would be perfect if I had any left. I went looking and luckily I had some left.
I chose my colors to match the paper. When I saw the flower on the sketch I wanted to use my scalloped circle and cut the scallops. When I did this I thought of daisies (my favorite flower) and decided a yellow center would be perfect. I also remembered I had some sparkly black organdy ribbon that would look nice. When I went looking I also found some yellow that I decided to use also.
I used the bee from In Full Bloom and stamped it. I then used a gold Sakura Stardust pen to add some yellow bling, a black marker to color the black of the bee, and some Crystal Effects on the wings. When my card was finished I realized that it would also fit the Mother’s and Daughter’s Pop It Up challenge. When I was all done I realized I had not included a sentiment. I guess this was because I used the ribbon instead. Oh well, here is the sketch and my creation.

Beautifully done!!
I really liked this card. It was so summery and everything coordinated so well. The flower like daisy idea with the punch was great. Sandy
Aw – so cute!! I love the bee’s and the flower – beautiful card!
