Hand Stamped Sentiments – Pulled Pastels

Hello Everyone!

Well it is time for our next challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  This week we have a technique challenge.  We are to use either shaving cream, chalks, or crayons on our card.  I saw a cool technique while checking out my blogs called Pulled Pastels.  Since I needed a technique for my class this week I decided to use our challenge and make my card for my class.

To do the pulled technique you start with a dark cardstock (I used Always Artichoke) and using a cotton ball apply your chalks to your cardstock.  I used a variety of greens (Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Garden Green, and Handsome Hunter – I have the old pastels) as I wanted to make a card that could be used for Christmas.  After you get your chalk  on your cardstock you ink up you stamp with Versmark and stamp it on your cardstock.  The Versamark pulled the chalk off the cardstock and leaves a dark image.

Before I mounted my image I sprayed it with my homemade shimmer spray.  It is very sparkly!  🙂  It still needed something so I took my white pen and added some snow on the branches and the ground

I would have preferred to use Brushed Gold cardstock but only had the silver so I used that.  Here is my final creation that we will make in my technique class on Wednesday evening.

Make sure you head over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog to check out what the other ladies created for our technique challenge.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Robbie
