I have to admit that when I started this card I did not think it would turn out as cute as it did. I chose my patterned paper and my main image first. I originally thought I would do this card on Kraft and Handsome Hunter but once I stamped the tree on Very Vanilla the Kraft did not fit so I stuck with the Very Vanilla.
The sketch is from Prairie Paper & Ink. Amy has some great sketches that are fun to work with. She also has a stamp set she put together with some great Christmas card sayings. I wanted to use one of those on this card.
I needed another color to give the card some variety so I chose to use Summer Sun. When I put it on the card it was so bright and seemed to dominate the card. I decided to use my Spica Gold micro glass flake pen to tone it down a little. I like how it looks in real life as it is sparkly but I don’t think it shows in my picture. I also used the last of my gold ribbon from Pink Hedgehog so I will be ordering some more (this is the same ribbon we used in our Christmas stamp-a-stack this past weekend).
This card turned out so cute and I hope you like it also. Here is the sketch and my creation.
Stamps: Flaky Friends, Greetings 4 You (both retired), Christmas Card Verses (CC Designs Rubber Stamps) Paper: Always Artichoke, Summer Sun, Very Vanilla, Patterned Paper (Lasting Impressions – did not have a name as it came in a stack in a clear envelope) Ink: Always Artichoke, Ballet Blue, Palette Noir Black Accessories: Always Artichoke – Creamy Caramel – Summer Sun markers, striped gold organdy ribbon, Spica gold micro glass flake pen, slot punch, small and large oval punches, photo corner punch, gold brads, sponge, dimensionals
