Creative Handmade Christmas Card

Creative Handmade Christmas Card

Happy Friday Everyone ~ today’s card uses the Friends are Like Seashells stamp set for a Creative Handmade Christmas Card.

This is my last day for Christmas in July cards!  I am so sad.  I love making Christmas Cards.  How about you?  Pulling out my Christmas supplies in the heat of the summer just seems to cool me off – makes me think of snow!

I ran across an idea from several years ago and the designer had used a previous sea stamp set to make an adorable Christmas tree using the shells.  I decided to update it and put my spin on it using the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set.

I decided to stamp all my images on Crumb Cake using the same color ink.  I then used the coordinating dies or fussy cut to get the shells.  The ones that have to be fussy cut are easy so it wasn’t a problem.

Now the hard part begins – how to get the shells in the shape of a tree!  I have a hint for you!  Take and add your starfish at the top of your panel.  Then take a ruler and use it for a straight line down one side and another ruler for the other side.  If you don’t have a ruler you can also use the edge of some paper.

Lay out your shells in a pattern in between the rulers and filling as much space as you can.  Do not glue them down until you are happy with the placement.

To give some more definition to your tree and to ensure you get the impression of a tree, use your blending brush to add a light layer of Crumb Cake ink between the rulers or paper.  When you are happy remove the papers.

I added lots of Gold gems and stamped my sentiment before layering my card.  Here is a Creative Handmade Christmas Card.  It was so fun making this idea!

Pull out your Seashells and spend a little time making this Creative Handmade Christmas Card. Anyone who loves the beach would love getting this card from you!
