Anything Goes Saturday – Steampunk butterflies meets vellum
Hello everyone – today’s Anything Goes Saturday – Steampunk butterflies meets vellum shows how you can use a die cut image to tone down bright pattern paper.
Last week I messed up on Sunday. I did my video and took pictures of my card but totally forgot to do my blog post. Then I messed up and used the wrong product to focus on. So today I am posting my video and card that should have been shared last week. I am linking to Vicky’s card so you can see what she did.
Today’s Project
For some reason I thought we were using vellum and totally forgot it was supposed to be colored pencils. I used a bright pattern and chose to use a die cut to tone it down some. Using a die cut is a great change and adds interest rather than a panel on the bright paper.
The kit also had some other ephemera that I used to add interest to the card. I found a butterfly in my stash and used it to decorate the inside of the card and envelope.

One of my favorite ways to use vellum is with alcohol inks. Look at this card that uses an alcohol ink strip and a background for the butterfly. You can also make a vellum pocket to put your card in so it is a fun way to share your creation.
