April Showers Bring May Flowers

Hello Stampers!

Well I got 20 of my hand sanitizers completely finished.  I have all the pieces punched, cut, scored, and assembled as much as possible.  To finish the ones that are left all I have to do is assemble the holder and stick on the embellishments.  I am certain I can finish them today.  Then I can deliver them next week.

I also finished my online class last night but now I have quite a bit of work ahead of me over the next few months.  I will be using a schedule as that is the only way I can accomplish all I have to get done.  Wish me luck!

My card today was one I wanted to do when I saw the 2 challenges.  I saw the challenge at Try Stampin’ on Tuesday  and the description helped me decide what I wanted to do.

Since the description mentioned April Showers I thought the Technique challenge at Just Us Girls would be the perfect compliment.

It has been a while since I have played with the smooshing technique so I thought I would use it to create my background.  I used my mat and reinkers so I could get a darker color.  I did the Pool Party first and let it dry.  Then I came back with Smoky Slate on top to get some gray in it.  By doing it this way, you avoid getting a muddy background.  After the background was dry I used the raindrops from Sprinkles of Life stamp set.  I then cut my designer series paper and attached it.  I used the tear & tape as the watercolor paper is usually warped from the water and I want to make sure the designer series paper sticks.  I then attached my ribbon and again used tear & tape to attach the layer to the card base.  I then punched my flowers and sponged the edges.  I assembled the flower and added to my card.  I finished the flower with a rhinestone.  Here is my completed creation.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I will be finishing up my hand sanitizers and making cards to post this weekend.  I am headed to a knitting retreat and so looking forward to it.  We even have a tour of a yarn maker and his warehouse!  Fun, Fun, Fun!  Have a Great Day!
