CHA New Release Hop at Laura’s Loft

Hello Ladies!

Today Laura’s Loft is having a hop featuring some new releases from CHA (Craft and Hobby Association).   If you are not familiar with this it is a huge convention where new ideas and products are shared with merchants and crafters.  They offer demonstrations as to how to use their products so you can see how to use them.

If you arrived here from Jasmine’s blog I am sure she had a fabulous
creation for you.  If you missed Jasmine’s stop, then click the previous
button and check out her work.

March is National Craft Month and Laura is having a store
wide 15% off sale.  She also is very generous as she has a $10 off for $75 spent.  Use the code $10off75.

Laura is also having a Giveaway.  The details are at the bottom!

For my first project I used some new products from Tim Holz.  I used the Tim Holz Mini Layering Stencil from Kit #6.  I combined it with the Tim Holz Distress Crayons Kit #3.  I placed my stencil on my card front and then used the crayon to color over the stencil.  I also used my finger to push the crayon into the openings of the stencil which gave me the white wash kinda look to the flowers.  I stamped my sentiment with some ink from the Tim Holz Distress Mini Ink Kit #4, Tim Holz Distress Mini Ink Kit #13, and Tim Holz Distress Mini Ink Kit #15.  I used the same ink and the stencil inside my card and for my envelope.  I finished my card off with some Virginia Turtle Enamel Dots in Basic.  Here is my first creation.

For my second card, I used the Altenew Way Too Sweet stamp set.  I stamped my image and then used ink from the Tim Holz Distress Mini Ink Kit#1, Tim Holz Distress Mini Ink Kit #13, and Tim Holz Distress Mini Ink Kit #15.  I cut them out and mounted them on card stock.  To create my background I used watercolor paper and my craft mat.  I scribbled some color from the Twisted Citron crayon in the Tim Holz Distress Crayons Kit #1 and the Fossilized Amber Crayon and Seedless Preserves in the Tim Holz Distress Crayons Kit #2 onto my craft mat making sure the colors were close together.  I then spritzed it with water and dragged my watercolor paper through the colors.  I dried it with my heat tool and then applied more of the individual colors and dried each time.  The beauty of these crayons is once you dry them they are set so you can layer your colors on until you are happy with the background.  Once my background was finished I added it to my card base and attached my popsicles.  I then stamped my sentiment that I chose from the set and my card was finished.  Here is my completed project.
