Coloring Accented Blooms

Hello Everyone ~ I used alcohol markers for my Coloring Accented Blooms creation.

Well I got my paperwork signed and sent out, my house swiffered, and I played cards yesterday afternoon.  Then last night I went to the pavilion for dinner.  All in all it was a pretty good day even if the morning was hectic.  Today I am going to go to the recycling center and then clean my studio.  I also want to work on a project I need to have done as well as make the little treat for the ladies who are coming to my class on Tuesday.  It is supposed to be really hot here so perfect day for staying inside.  I also need to finish reading my book for book club on Monday.  Great weekend to chill out!

My card today used the Accented Blooms stamp set.  This set is carrying over to the new catalog.  It is a great set and I love how it is perfect for coloring if you want or you can emboss and and do a monochromatic card.  I began by stamping the image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I then pulled out my alcohol markers and began coloring.  I attempted to do some shading on the larger flowers and then the smaller flowers I just highlighted the crease lines.  After I had it colored I fussy cut the image out.  I have a Silhouette Cameo that will be set up in my studio when I get the rest of storage units.  When I have that I won’t have to fussy cut if I don’t want to.  It will be nice to have that.  I took some Grapefruit Grove 1/8″ grosgrain ribbon and added it to the top of a piece of Grapefruit Grove designer series paper.  This panel was then added to a Whisper White card base.  The colored image was attached to the card base using dimensionals.  I used the Tailored Tag punch and Basic Black card stock to punch out the shape.  On scrap paper I used Grapefruit Grove ink to stamp the sentiment.  The sentiment was fussy cut and then added to the Basic Black shape.  It was then added to the space on the stamped image using dimensionals.  To finish off the card a bow was tied using the Grapefruit Grove 1/8″ grosgrain ribbon.  Here is my completed Coloring Accented Blooms creation.

Alcohol markers are great for coloring to add shading. Check out how I used them on my Coloring Accented Blooms card.

Robbie-Very pretty card! I am happy they are carrying it over too! Also, where here, do you get the catalog bound? The last time I checked Staples, they said they didn’t have a ‘binder’ to accommodate the catalog thickness…Let me Know!
